The KW2520CB-SlowPhos is a compatible replacement to the Aquios RCFS220. A water softener operates on the principle of cation exchange which removes hardness cations and replaces them with sodium ions. Soft water is absent of dissolved mineral that cause harness i.e. calcium and magnesium. Our water filter does not soften the water but the Slow Phos polyphosphate does sequester the hardness cations thus inhibiting mineral scale formations and minimizing corrosion throughout the water system. The 3M Aqua-Pure AP904 Extra-Large Capacity Whole House Filtration System helps to provide high quality water throughout your entire home. This system is designed to be installed at the point of entry; helping to reduce sediment, dirt, rust, scale, chlorine taste and odor* providing protection to all water using appliances and plumbing fixtures throughout the home or light commercial/industrial applications and provide cleaner, clearer, better tasting drinking water.
This system includes a head assembly with integral mounting bracket and single cartridge filter. It is manufactured from FDA CFR-21 compliant materials, 1” inlet/outlet size, has a maximum operating pressure of 25-125 psi/172-862 kPa, and an operating temperature of 40-100°F/4.4-37.8°C. It provides a flow rate of 20 gallons/75.7 liters per minute, has a capacity of 100,000 gallons (approximately one year cartridge life under most water quality conditions). The unit is 25-1/16 in/63.7 cm high with a diameter of 4-1/2 in/11.4 cm and approximate weight of 7.5lbs/3.4 kg.

The KleenWater KW2510CB-P 5 micron carbon block cartridge is made in the USA. The carbon ingredient removes chlorine and chemicals from water. Chlorine can dry the skin and may be an irritant to some. Some studies indicate that there are inhalation risks present when showering with chlorinated and chemically treated water. This cartridge can substantially reduce the chlorine and chemical content of water.
This cartridge also contains FDA approved polyphosphate which aids in scale control. This will benefit the shower appearance by reducing hardness build up and protect the shower valve fixture from the harmful effects of scale. The cartridge should be changed every 6 months. The cartridge is rated for up to a 3 gallon per minute flow rate. It is perfectly normal to hear a rattling inside the carbon block cartridge do to the addition of the siliphos spheres.
