Raphael, the hot-head of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, is available for the first time in 1/6-scale! Based on the original Eastman and Laird comic book, Raphael features over 25 points of articulation, interchangeable heads (Classic Comic and Unmasked) and hand sets (1 C-Grip, 1 Cimbing Claw, 1 “Clenched Fist of Untamed Aggression”), with weapons (2 Sai, 2 Four-Point Shuriken, 2 Eight-Point Shuriken) & accessories taken right from the pages of the comic book, including grappling hook and cord, triceraton blaster, belt, Utrom Lieutenant, TCRI Canister and Pre-Mutation Baby Raphael!.

Raphael is a hothead, the most opinionated, impulsive and restless Ninja Turtle. “Raph” loves nothing more than to test himself in battle and trains for sheer enjoyment. He’s usually the first one to leap into action and it’s nearly impossible to get him to back down! Raph’s weapon of choice is a pair of sai. These are a traditional martial arts weapon and come in many styles. The basic form is that of a metal baton, with two curved prongs (yoku) projecting from the handle (tsuka). These prongs are designed for trapping and blocking. As huge fans of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated television show, the artisans at Factory Entertainment were intrigued by the question “If the ’80s animated Turtles where real, what would their weapons look like?” Growing up as fans of the show, our desire was to create a collectible more age-appropriate than the toys we had enjoyed as children back in the day (okay, which we still enjoy when no one’s looking). The result–a museum quality realization of Raphael’s signature weapons suitable for “grown-up” collectors who still want to celebrate their Turtle Power! Working closely with the team at Nickelodeon and with extensive study of the classic animated series, we were able to create an accurate real world replica of the sai wielded so expertly by Raphael. Each sai is cast from solid metal that has been chrome-plated and features a leather wrapped handle and brass-alloy pommel. To display the Sai we could think of no more fitting ‘stand’ than facsimiles of Raphael’s hands, cast in Polynesian with integral magnetic latches which safely secure them to the metalized resin sewer lid base, that includes a cast metal plaque bearing the edition number. This item is intended for mature adults over 18 years of age and is intended for display only. Care should be taken when handling the sai. Never swing them at or strike anything or anybody with them.
